Strategic Plan Steering Committee Sought

The City of Wellington will be working with Wichita State University’s Public Policy and Management Center in the development of a strategic plan. The planning and visioning process will result in a comprehensive five-year strategic plan. Strategic planning is an inclusive planning process, allowing for the creation of a community plan that establishes a vision for the community, and goals and strategies to accomplish that vision. With the goal of stakeholder engagement, the Wellington Governing Body would like to appoint a Strategic Planning Steering Committee. The committee will consist of 7 or 9 individuals and will meet approximately 4 times through the development process of a strategic plan, which is estimated to be completed around May of 2020. The Governing Body is asking for Wellington citizen volunteers who would be willing to serve on the steering committee. Anyone interested in serving is asked to contact the City Manager’s Office by December 13. Contact by phone at 620-326-3631 or by email

A list of citizens willing to serve will be provided to the Governing Body. A 7 or 9 member steering committee will be appointed at the council meeting on December 17. The first meeting of the steering committee will take place shortly after the first of the year.
