2006 Classic VIII

Classic VIII was played in Lyons on August 13, 2006. Teams checked in on Saturday, August 12 and after practice watched a “Vintage Baseball Game” and enjoyed a picnic. During Opening Ceremonies, Brett Cares, Parsons was presented the State Commissioner’s AHHP Award for his play in the 13-15 Year-Old State Tournament held in Wellington July 26-August 1. District 3 Commissioner Bob Willis announced that Paul Unrau, Assistant State Commissioner for 9 Year-Olds and 11 Year-Olds had been elected into the Kansas Babe Ruth Hall of Fame. Induction ceremonies will take place at Winfield September 30 at the Fall State meeting. A nine and a seven inning games were played with the two squads splitting.
