The 2001 “Classic” was held in Great Bend on August 12. The East team was managed by Gene Buie, Assistant State Commissioner for 16-18 Year Olds from Hutchinson and he was assisted by Jon Garrison, Pittsburg and Ed Thompson, Pomona. Players on the East team representing Districts 5-7 were: Jacob Garrison, St. Mary’s/Colgan; Russell Knaup, Frontenac; Scott Hogan, Independence; Jason Watson, Independence; Matt Jacquinot, Parsons; Brandon Giefer, St. Paul; Trevor Call, Chanute; Eli Johnston, Columbus; Adam New, Galena; Ben King, Anderson County; Drew Lorimer, Fort Scott; J. R. Smith, Burlington; Damon Birk, Gridley; Brandon Story, Ottawa; Matt Bachelor, Ottawa; Brad Page, Paola; Steve Judson, Santa Fe Trail and Josh Clower, Melvern. Representing Districts 1-4 on the West squad were Manager Paul Unrau, KBRL, Inc. Treasurer from Moundridge and coaches Ken Parker, Ellsworth and Terrence Hardman, McPherson.
