The 2000 “Classic” was held in Pittsburg at JayCee Ballpark with players reporting August 12 and games played Sunday, August 13. The coaches for the teams were the
newest members inducted into the Kansas Babe Ruth Hall of Fame--Owen Kaufman, District 4 Commissioner for the West team and Daryl Spear, District 5 Commissioner for the East team. The East team defeated the
West Squad in both ends of the nine-inning double-header by scores of 7-6 and 8-7.
