Mat 24:14-31 The 2nd coming

(Acts 27:29) "Then fearing lest we should have fallen upon rocks, they cast four anchors out of the stern, and wished for the day."

The Anchor of Hope-

The Blessed hope is the anchor that holds us all in a storm tossed sea.

Not the blessed threat – We in the A/Gs have made the second coming a threat- God wants you to be in heaven but we must live ready

Hope of heaven is the Christians reality. The Hope of Life-No sickness no death The hope of Victory – The devil is defeated we win – The hope of Justice- This world in not fair- the only Justice there will be is in heaven- - In the 60s Laugh In made famous the tag line "Here comes the judge" The Hope of Restoration- Reunion day is restoration day- Restored homes restored relationships

The Anchor of Relevance-

With the guide line to heaven firmly in tact everything becomes relevant We become connected with something bigger then ourselves.

The Kingdom comes – His will is done- His will becomes our goal- The old Hymnist said When we all get to heaven- we will rejoice- We will understand it better by and by.

The Kingdom is our goal- when we fail in an earthly conquest we remind ourselves of our spiritual Conquest. Is always a success

The Anchor of Purpose -

Purpose changes everything into a opportunity for service- Problems become challenges when we have purpose- Difficult people become our own private mission field with Purpose- Barriers become huddles Long lonely roads become processes of purpose-

Not Some earthly landlocked purpose that will fade to dust but divine Purpose- That never fades.

The Anchor of Accountability-

(Rom 14:12) "So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God." The word translated Account there is Lo-gos- reasoning- The Explanation- Are you Looking forward to your day in court?

Every deed we do every action we make we give an account for (Mat 12:36) "But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment."

Men Judge deed, We Judge our intentions but God Judges the heart-
