The Power of God's Word Heb. 4:12

Logos and Rhema Are used interchangeably in the OT Septuagint Version (OT da-bar) 3 Aspects of the Word of God- that you need operating in your life.

  1. A covenant word. In the law God (LOGOS) (4:12)

    2. The Theme of this Chapter is Jesus, Jesus is never separated from the word- Jesus is the Word of God

    Jesus is the LOGOS of God (John 1:14) The Entire Divine Expression " a single (Written or spoken) work, the entire law, the whole gospel message"

    The Spirit convergences with the word - Heb 4:2 "..the message they heard was of no value to them, because those who heard did not combine it with faith."

    What God is doing or saying NOW- Heb 2:18 "Because Jesus was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted." Jesus is not far removed from you.

  3. Creative word. God created the world by His word

OT Saint's believed in the power of the spoken word- Hebrews thought words had a mysterious binding authority. In the Story of I saac's blessing Jacob instead of Esau It appeared that all involved believed Isaac's word seems magical--like an arrow once shot, it could not be recalled. (Num 30 1-16 Gives the law of the vow-)

CAUTION God's word Alone has this type of irresistible potency (Isa. 55:11) and absolute creative power
