Season Ending Is A Heartbreaker For Crusaders

After leading, falling behind, leading and falling behind again, the Crusaders staged a valiant comeback try in the last inning Wednesday at the REGIONAL 4A DIV I Baseball Championships being played in Winfield. Down 2-6, the DUKES chipped away in the top of the 7th and narrowed the deficit to 1. That was as far as they would go. The game ended on an infield pop-up, final score Wellington 5 Winfield 6.

Softball Ladies End Season @ 8-13

The Lady Crusaders split with Mulvane earlier this season in two hard fought close battles - on Tuesday at the Regional 4A Softball Tournament in Winfield, Mulvane's pitching would prove to be too much, limiting the girls in red to just 2 hits on the day, singles by Carlie McComb and Ryleigh Buck.

Members of the WHS Class of 2014 have received their "walking papers", i.e. diplomas and are off into the world, each with his or her own dreams to fill and happiness to seek out and secure. A large crowd was on hand Sunday afternoon at WHS for the graduation ceremony, featuring "3" valedictorians this year - Ben DeJarnett, Holly Wright and Gracie Defore.

"10" First Place Finishes At AVCTL League Track Meet Friday!

The AVCTL DIV IV League Track Meet was held Friday at Wichita Collegiate. Our Girls Team finished strong at 2nd place, and our Boys Team 6th. Between the "2", 10 Crusader 1st place finishes and Jr. Colin Reichenberger set another new WHS Record, this time in the 300M Hurdles, beating his old record, just set recently.
