And They're Off!

Members of the WHS Class of 2014 have received their "walking papers", i.e. diplomas and are off into the world, each with his or her own dreams to fill and happiness to seek out and secure. A large crowd was on hand Sunday afternoon at WHS for the graduation ceremony, featuring "3" valedictorians this year - Ben DeJarnett, Holly Wright and Gracie Defore.

"10" First Place Finishes At AVCTL League Track Meet Friday!

The AVCTL DIV IV League Track Meet was held Friday at Wichita Collegiate. Our Girls Team finished strong at 2nd place, and our Boys Team 6th. Between the "2", 10 Crusader 1st place finishes and Jr. Colin Reichenberger set another new WHS Record, this time in the 300M Hurdles, beating his old record, just set recently.

Brownlee & Pettegrew: 1 Win Short Of A Medal @ State 4A Tourney

Post season play for the Wellington Crusaders Boys Tennis squad ended Saturday morning in Winfield at the State 4A Boys Tennis Tournament...after going 2-1 on Friday, the Crusader Duo - Tyler Pettegrew and Dutch Brownlee came up short against Ottawa 6-9, just 1 win short of medaling at this year's State Tourney. Both Brownlee and Pettegrew are Juniors and vow to return and redeem in 2015.

State 4A Boys Tennis Update!

Day 1 is over at Winfield at the State 4A Boys Tennis Championships. Wellington's very own Jrs. Tyler Pettegrew and Dutch Brownlee (doubles) and Freshman Brock Edwards competed after qualifying at last weekends Regional 4A Tournament in Pratt. That's awesome in and of itself! In Friday action, Edwards battled hard but ended up 0-2 and has been eliminated from the competition. Rest assured, he will return!! In doubles action.
