Wear Your Seatbelt Or Get A Ticket!

 Beginning February 24 thru March 7, the Wellington Police Department will join other Kansas Law Enforcement to stop what has been an epidemic for the past several years. In 2012, 43 teens lost their lives due to car crashes in Kansas; 74% of those teens NOT PROPERLY RESTRAINED. In an effort to change this trend, law enforcement across Kansas will be extra-vigilant when patrolling around schools.

8TH GRADE KNIGHTS ARE PIONEER LEAGUE CHAMPIONS!

#1 seed Wellington lived up to it's bracket standing Saturday at the Pioneer League Tournament @ Mulvane Middle School vs #2 seed Ark City. These 2 teams had met twice thus far this season, each securing a win on their home court - the rubber match on a neutral court would determine who would be League Tournament Champion! A close battle through 3 qtrs., the score was actually knotted at 23 after 3.

A NEW DUKE REIGNS IN WELLINGTON!

WHS Senior Houston Sober was crowned DUKE Friday evening out at WHS as the student body celebrated HOMECOMING with basketball and a dance to follow. Sober is the 67th Duke to be crowned since the tradition began back in 1948. Other candidates this year included: Payton Baker, Parker Daugherty, Ben DeJarnett and Jacob Johnson - a fine, fine slate of young men!

Season Ends For Lady Knights - Knights Advance To Championship Game Saturday!

The 8th grade Lady Knights, #1 seed at this week's Pioneer League Tournament in Mulvane, fell to #5 seed Ark City Thursday evening, to end their fabulous season at 13-2. The Lady Knight's only other loss came against Rose Hill in double overtime much earlier in the season. Over the past "2" seasons, the ladies had a cumulative record of 28-3, won "2" regular season Pioneer League Titles and "1" Pioneer League Tournament Title.

WHS Varsity Wrestlers End Regular Season With DUAL Win!

The Wellington Crusader wrestling squad was on the road Thursday evening in search of Thunderbirds. They found them and defeated them 54-24, in AVCTL DIV IV League Dual action at Circle HS. This moved Wellington's season dual record to 14-6 as the team now begins preparation for 4A Regional action at Winfield HS next Friday and Saturday (Feb. 21-22). The other 4A Regional locations this year are at Burlington, Holton and Colby.
