Wellington Golf Course burglarized second time in last week

Saturday morning, September 27th, 2014, Wellington Officers received notification that the Wellington Golf Course had been broken into.

Upon arrival, officers discovered the burglars had broken out a window on the southside of the club house gaining entry.  Once inside cash, two Ipods, keys, a Beretta style airsoft pistol, Oakley sunglasses and beer were stolen.

This is the BIG WEEK at WHS! It's SPIRIT WEEK all week, and of course culminating Friday with great football action between 4-0 Andale and 4-0 Wellington. We will also crown a new DUCHESS Friday at halftime and the big dance will follow. On Thursday, the traditional HOMECOMING PARADE downtown featuring the Duchess Candidates and their escorts, the 2014 IRONDUKE Football Team, all the local schools and more!

"THE BRIDGE" Was First Painted in 1975

As we enter into FALL HOMECOMING WEEK 2014, it's fun to reflect on the many traditions at Wellington High School, one such as "THE PAINTING OF THE BRIDGE". I recently posted a request on Facebook for someone to share information about the first painting of "THE BRIDGE" - I think you will enjoy the following submitted by Jeri McGillicuddy & Diane (Cypert) Crittenden, both 1976 WHS Graduates.


The Wellington Crusader Varsity football squad continued their winning ways Friday evening down at Sellers Park, determining the outcome of the 4th week contest vs Clearwater very early on. Up "3" TD's after just 1 quarter, the Indians never presented a challenge for the red-hot IRONDUKES. Trevor Nance went 10 for 16 / 184 yds w/ 5 TD's and 1 rushing TD! Colin Reichenberger was on the receiving end of "4" of those TD's Friday night.
