Fireworks Rules & Regulations

Firework Safety/Regulations:
 
The City of Wellington allows the sale of fireworks from July 1st through July 4th from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM.   Discharge of fireworks can occur from 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM July 1st through July 3rd and 10:00 AM to midnight on July 4th.  Except for public displays approved by the city, fireworks cannot be discharged at the Wellington Lake or at Hargis Creek Watershed Park.

The Public Display will be held on July 4th beginning about dusk. Parking will be provided on park grounds on both the east and west sides of the Watershed. As a courtesy to residents along Day and Keyes streets, the city is asking those viewing the display to not park on the streets. The fireworks igniter will be on the south/east end of the Watershed.

Wellington Heat Youth Camp & Upcoming Home Games

There is a Wellington HEAT Baseball Camp This saturday, June 8th
This FREE camp is made for those who wish to play baseball and strengthen skills needed to play the game. Memebers of the Wellington HEAT Baseball team will be giving instruction to the younger players.
 
Saturday, June 8th from 9am to noon. 
Age divisions 5-6. 7-8.

Judge Scott McQuin schedules arraignment hearing for Ora Munger
 
A preliminary hearing for Ora Munger, age 40, of Iola, KS, was held in the Sumner County Courthouse Wednesday before a packed courtroom. 
 
Munger was accompanied by his court appointed attorney, Crystal Krier.
 
The day saw eight witnesses take the stand including Sheriff Lt.

Forest "Gene" Turney

Forest "Gene" Turney, age 84, of Udall, KS, passed away June 28, 2016 at William Newton Memorial  Hospital in Winfield, KS.

Funeral Services will be held at the Church of Christ in Wellington, KS on Friday, July 1, 2016 at 10:00 A.M.

Interment will follow the service at the Council Hill Cemetery in Peck, KS.
